More than 100 experts of the International Association of Hydro geologists at a conference in London came to the following conclusions:

three hundred million people in sub-Saharan Africa currently do not have access to clean water; Africa will not meet the UN millennium development goal of reducing by half the number of people without access to clean water until 2050; reliable access to clean water is crucial in reducing poverty in Africa.

Based on the principle that it is better to teach a man how to fish than give him a fish, ICA in Moose Jaw has chosen to provide a water borehole drilling rig, and training to locals in rural Africa so that they can develop wells in their communities.
