African Children die of hunger daily!
UNITED NATIONS (AP) — According to the
U.N, some 18,000 children (55% in Africa), die
everyday because of hunger and malnutrition and
850 million people around the world go to bed
every night with empty stomachs, a
"terrible indictment of the world in
2007," the head of the U.N. food agency
said. James
Morris called for students and young
people, faith-based groups, the business
community and governments to join forces in a
global movement to alleviate and eliminate

on 1995 Copenhagen
World Summit
In March 1995 Copenhagen World Summit Declaration on Social Development (Annex I, A(13)), stated the current (1995) world social situation and reasons for convening the Summit, declaring then, that ... “We are witnessing in countries throughout the world the expansion of prosperity for some, unfortunately accompanied by an expansion of unspeakable poverty for others. This glaring contradiction is unacceptable and needs to be corrected through urgent actions”.
That was 16 years ago and in Africa alone, 10,000 children are still dying every year for lack of basic food. What happened to the “urgent action”?
