Students raise more than $10,000

On Wednesday, April 14, first-year students of the Algonquin College public relations program wrapped up a month-long campaign that raised more than $10,000 for ICAfrica.

Eight events were held throughout the Ottawa area with the goal of raising both awareness and financial support for ICAfrica's various grassroots programs. For more information on this initiative, visit the campaign website at:

Micro-credit, Macro-change

70 per cent of sub-Saharan Africans live on less than $1 per day. In many of these countries, unemployment can reach up to - guess what - 70 per cent. It's no secret the most effective mechanism to fight poverty is job creation, so ICAfrica provides capable entrepreneurs the tools necessary to develop their ideas and grow their own economies.
